Washington State, blessed with its diverse landscapes, is an authentic paradise for couples looking to elope! From the towering peaks of the Cascades to the rugged coastlines of the Olympic National Park, trust us, there's a perfect spot for every couple. We have put together this guide to share with you some of our favorite places to elope in this amazing state. So don’t forget to add these to your list!

Our Favorite Locations!

Central Cascades

Close to the Greater Seattle area, the Central Cascades is loaded with stunning trails. These trails aren’t just incredibly beautiful, but they are also accessible, making it easy for your loved ones to attend your intimate ceremony. Some favorite locations in the Central Cascades, particularly in the I-90/Snoqualmie Pass area, are Rattlesnake Lake & Trail, Franklin Falls, Gold Creek Pond, Lake Cle Elum, and Granite Falls. Each of these spots offers its own unique beauty, from the serene waters of the lakes to the tranquil settings of the trails. However, something that stands out about this area is Washington's most iconic waterfall, Snoqualmie Falls. Falling from a height of 268 feet, it is a sight to behold and a perfect backdrop for your wedding pictures!  Staying in this region is equally enjoyable, with accommodation options ranging from the luxurious Salish Lodge & Spa to the unique Treehouse Point. The Central Cascades is the perfect choice for those looking for the great outdoors while still being within reach of city amenities.

North Cascades

Known as the Alps of Washington, the North Cascades offer breathtaking landscapes that you will feel as though you've been airlifted onto a mountaintop! This region is unique because it caters to everyone's preferences. Mount Baker, one of the most popular locations in the North Cascades, offers trails for everyone, from backpackers to casual day-trippers and even non-hikers, ensuring accessibility for all! It’s the perfect place to have your intimate ceremony and then explore the outdoors!

For lodging, the Hygge House, characterized by its cozy and stylish interiors, comes highly recommended! The North Cascades National Park, known for the mesmerizing Lake Diablo, is another favorite. The lake's turquoise waters set against the backdrop of the surrounding peaks create a breathtaking scene, and are perfect for a wedding. The closest accommodations here are in the stunning town of Winthrop, which is as inviting as the park itself. The North Cascades is a world of stunning alpine landscapes that's sure to make your special day unforgettable.

Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is full of diversity. Its lush rainforests, rugged coastlines, and breathtaking peaks offer a bit of everything. The park, located closest to Port Angeles, is approximately a 2 1/2 hour drive from Seattle. There are multiple routes to get there, including a scenic ferry ride that will add a dash of adventure to your journey! One must-visit spot in the park is the Lake Crescent Lodge, which is surrounded by trails. Other highlights of this park include the panoramic Hurricane Ridge, the mystical La Push with its rocky outcrops and driftwood-strewn beaches, the cascading Sol Duc Falls, the picturesque Ruby Beach, and the enchanting Hoh Rainforest. With such diverse locales, the Olympic National Park ensures a unique and beautiful backdrop for your elopement. Plus, you have a lot of options to choose for depending on the vibe you are going.

Rainier National Park

Often praised as one of the most beautiful parks in the United States, Rainier National Park is home to the iconic Mount Rainier! The park is particularly vibrant in the summer months, especially mid-July when the wildflowers bloom, painting the park in a variety of colors. Our favorite areas in the park are Paradise, Sunrise, Lake Tipsoo, and Crystal Mountain Resort. Crystal Mountain Resort even offers a wedding venue where you can summit a mountain to exchange your vows! Imagine saying 'I do' at the summit, with the majestic Mount Rainier as your backdrop - it's an experience that's as unforgettable as it is unique. Check out this incredible wedding we photographed at Crystal Mountain: Colorful Outdoor Wedding at Crystal Mountain Resort

Eastern Washington

If you're looking for something different, Eastern Washington, with its unique and drier climate, is an underrated elopement destination that has a lot to offer! The town of Leavenworth, a Bavarian-themed town located inside a mountain, is a favorite. It offers a unique backdrop for your special day with its amazing architecture and scenic beauty. Every location in Eastern Washington provides a unique backdrop for your elopement, making sure that your special day will be truly memorable. Palouse Falls State Park is honestly underrated. However, it is quite a drive out to get to! 4-hour drive from Seattle. But when you're there, it doesn’t disappoint and is absolutely incredible! In my personal opinion, it gives you the vibes of Iceland without the need for a passport. I would recommend this location in the spring season as the grass will be greener and give that lush Iceland feel.

Columbia River Gorge

The Columbia River Gorge, dividing Washington State and Oregon, is another amazing elopement destination. The closest cities to this region are Vancouver, WA, and Portland, OR. Especially appealing for waterfall lovers, the Gorge is home to 90 waterfalls, with 77 on the Oregon side alone. Other appealing locations are Cape Disappointment, with its dramatic coastal landscapes, and the beautiful islands of Washington, like the San Juan Islands and Whidbey Island. Mount St. Helens, an underrated location, offers a magical place to witness wildflowers in bloom. Each of these locations adds a unique charm, making them unforgettable spots for your special day!
