A VINTAGE TRAILER COUPLES SESSION
PART ONE
It’s always such an honor when you get to photograph your friends and document their love story with their significant other. K & E very much still in their honeymoon of their relationship, wanted to make a fun getaway photo trip with us. So we hopped in the car and headed to Sou’Wester Lodge in Seaview, Washington.
Sou’Wester Lodge is this awesome little getaway in the bottom left corner of Washington. Its about there hours from Seattle and only two hours from Portland. This isn’t your typical stay, because its filled vintage restarted trailers /cabins each as unique as the next. The main lodge was originally owned by the Washington state governor in the 1800’s, so their is nothing short of character in all the details.
We stayed in the Main lodge Master Suite, and K & E stayed in in the Westcraft trailer.
What I loved most about this place was that it felt like you stepped right back into past but with a modern flare, they had vintage record players you can grab and take to your trailer, records, and VHS (yes VHS!) movies, as well as a store with all the goodies you could need to make s’mores. They even have a vintage shop “thrifty” out of one of the trailers and had live music the night we were there.
An important thing to remember is that you can truly create a session as unique or creative as you want. We love to get to experience unique places like this with our couples. It brakes down the Barriers of how intimidating getting your pictures can be and create a environment to capture what you to love to do most together, that’s where the magic happens! Most of these vintage trailers have big windows, so it made for beautiful light throughout the camper, as well as mirrors, and the windows to play with.
With K & E, we started the day gallivanting in front of their trailer, let the doggies run around, and they danced to “best love songs of the 50’s” on the record player. We even got a little steamy, then headed to the beach for sunset (see PART TWO). After the beach we headed back to the lodge, K & E went to grab food for all of us, and we grabbed the wine and beer. We all sat around their campfire chatting then listened to live music they had playing that night.
Seriously one of our favorite days to date and the best way to start off summer here in the Pacific northwest.
I couldn’t even fit anymore images into this blog, but you can check out PART TWO to see the second half of their session and how we ended our day. In the meantime hope you enjoy scrolling through our “in-home” fun at Sou’Wester.
